Building a bootcamp is a craft, and ours is handmade. Our founders have been teaching, writing curriculum, and designing bootcamp courses since 2015, before starting Jigsaw Labs in 2019. And we're continuously improving each component – from student admissions to the syllabus, to the curriculum, to post-grad support.
We created Jigsaw Labs because we thought boot camps should be built differently. We did not design our program to be a risky sprint to a new career, but rather a natural onramp to one.

Jeff Katz
Founder & Instructor
Since 2015, Jeff has been teaching and writing curricula for software engineering and data science students. He has taught at bootcamps and at the university level. His students have gone on to work for companies like Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Blackrock, Github, Reddit, and LinkedIn.
He founded Jigsaw Labs in 2019.
Yu Chen
Co-Founder & Business Ops
Yu spent many years at Google and Google.org, building products that improved access to information for millions of users. She then joined the Flatiron School, where she and Jeff launched the Data Science program together.
Abhinav Patil
Instructor
Abhinav was previously a software engineer for Amazon working in Python and Java. He received a BA in Data Science and Statistics from Queens College.
Apurva Misra
Instructor
Apurva is a senior machine learning engineer Truckstop with professional experience ranging from ML to devops to MLOps. She received her masters in system design from the University of Waterloo.
Micah Ricks
Instructor
Micah is a software engineer at Microsoft and has previously worked for the department of defense and interned at NASA. He has worked as both a software engineer and data engineer.
Michael Zelentz
Instructor
Michael is a software engineer at Peak6, and was previously the director of data management and analytics at White Plains Hospital. He has a masters in Computer Software Engineering from Harvard.
Taylor Helgestad
Instructor
Taylor is a lead data engineer for California Air Resources board. He has specialties in AWS, Python, SQL, Spark, and GIS.
